Searching the Cochrane Library

Course Overview:

The Cochrane Library is an essential resource for any busy healthcare professional. Internationally recognised as the highest standard in evidence-based healthcare, Cochrane reviews summarise and appraise the latest research, making it quick and easy to keep up to date with the best clinical evidence.

In the course you will learn how to use the Cochrane Library to find Cochrane reviews, make use of advanced search features and print, save and email a Cochrane review. You will also explore the six other collections in the Cochrane library, including the Cochrane Register of Controlled Trials (CENTRAL), Economic Evaluations and Technology Assessments.  

Learning Outcomes:

  • Understand how the Cochrane Library can support clinical practice and evidence-based decision making.
  • Use the Cochrane Library to search for a range of different types of high-quality, independent evidence including Cochrane reviews, clinical trials and economic evaluations.
  • Be able to read a Cochrane review online, download, save and email a Cochrane review.
