Trip Database – 15 minutes
Effectively search for evidence using this alternative database, use PICO, understand evidence types, save and export results. iPad compatible

Introduction to NICE Evidence – 15 minutes
Identify which e-resources are available, understand the range of specialist collections and how to use them,

NHS Athens Account Management  – 20 minutes
Register for an Open Athens account, reset your password and update your Athens details when moving to another trust.

Basic and Advanced Database Searching – 15 minutes
Formulate a PICO search strategy, understand bibliographic databases, use search, limit, links to fulltext, basic/advanced features and operators.

Cochrane Library – 1 hour
Guidance on finding systematic reviews in the Cochrane library using the “browse” tool, and “searching” using the basic, advanced, mesh headings.  Plus saving and e-mailing results.

Critical Appraisal – 1 hour plus reading time
Introduction to evidence-based practice and critical appraisal of research, appraisal of a Randomised Controlled Trial using the CASP evaluation toolkit.

Base-Library Catalogue - 15 minutes
How to use the Base Library Catalogue. account management, searching, renewing and reserving items, and more.

Publishing, Copyright and Referencing – 1 hour
An introduction to getting your research published, copyright and plagiarism within the NHS and the basic principles of referencing.
